Why We Introduced a New Version

To be transparent, since Collis Ta'eed’s retirement as Envato CEO and the subsequent acquisition by Shutterstock, Envato’s marketplace hasn’t received the same level of focus or support it once did. Their primary attention has shifted toward the Elements subscription model, and many authors — myself included — believe the traditional marketplaces may eventually be phased out. In the meantime, the API has been left largely unmaintained, causing growing issues in recent months — in some cases even blocking users from accessing it on newer servers. This decline became even more evident with Envato’s recent decision to close their public forums.

Because of this, we’ve made the difficult decision to transition away from Envato licensing. Our priority is making sure you have a stable, secure, and reliable experience with NEX-Forms. Unfortunately, Envato’s API has caused too many issues — from random license deactivations to failed activations and backend slowdowns — and we can no longer guarantee the level of reliability you deserve if we continue through their system.

Moving forward, this change ensures that your investment is protected, your forms remain fast and secure, and you can continue to depend on NEX-Forms without the uncertainty caused by Envato’s platform.

How to make the Switch to Freemius:

2. Click on Get Started on your chosen plan.

3. After upgrading you will receive an e-mail containing a license key, a download link and client portal link.

4. Go to your WP backend and open NEX-Forms Dashboard or NEX-Forms Settings.

5. Copy the license you received in the email and past it into the activation box.

6. Hit Activate and you are all set.
